Having been without pigs for the previous five years,
Stephen Tuer from Northallerton, restocked his unit with 400 high health
Classic 1 gilts from Hermitage Seaborough in the second half of last year.
All gilts were served with Hermitage Seaborough
Maxgro terminal line semen and farrowings commenced last month. Results to date have been excellent, with the first batches
averaging 14.2 total born and over 13.8 born alive. Farrowing rates have averaged
over 93% on all batches to date.
Stephen is delighted with his performance and reports that the gilts are rearing all of the pigs exceptionally well! Congratulations to Stephen and unit manager Louise on this excellent performance.
